Our client was appointed as a state court receiver over a combined hotel renovation and local redevelopment agency project to construct low and moderate income housing.  On behalf of the receiver, we successfully negotiated a construction contract to complete both the hotel renovation and the housing project.  In addition, we implemented a complicated settlement between the lender and the debtor which involved payment and dismissal of multiple mechanics lien claims.

Our client is a receiver appointed by the U.S. District Court over a failing state agency. Among other things, we have assisted the receiver in defending a wide variety of claims brought by individuals and companies and have developed expertise in special defenses available to federal receivers, have advised the receiver on complicated areas of state personnel and employment law in the context of the federal receivership and have successfully defended numerous civil rights suits brought against the receiver and the agency in receivership by individuals.
