Jaime Touchstone focuses her practice on general civil, complex commercial and employment litigation, handling all aspects of the process, including case evaluation, legal research, discovery, motion practice, and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and settlement conferences.  Jaime regularly appears in state and federal courts and before administrative boards (such as the Labor Commissioner, the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and the Department of Personnel Administration) on behalf of privately and publicly held businesses, partnerships, sole proprietorships, public entities, receivers, and individuals (including C-Suite executives).  She also regularly provides employment law advice, counsel, and strategy to her clients, in the areas of wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination; trade secrets; wage and hour compliance; entrances and exits from the workplace; negotiation of executive compensation packages (including equity), consulting agreements and severance packages; and drafting of employment handbooks, contracts and policies for businesses of all sizes.

Professional Participation

Jaime is a leader in the legal community and is particularly interested in advancing the rights of women and girls locally, nationally and across the globe.  She serves on the board and executive committee of the International Action Network for Gender Equity & Law (IANGEL) and remains active in the Queen’s Bench Bar Association, for which she served as President in 2015 and Foundation President in 2016.  She is involved in the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), including BASF’s Women’s Impact Network which strives to promote the advancement of women in the legal profession.  She was integral in proposing and planning BASF’s inaugural Board Balance Conference, with the goal of training women for, and encouraging for profit and nonprofit board service.  She previously served on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Barristers Club, and assisted with creation of the Club’s 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions of the Pro Bono Resource Guide, A Guide to San Francisco Bay Area Volunteer Opportunities for Lawyers and Law Firms. 

Articles Written

From 2007 through 2018, Jaime was a regular contributor to the California Employment Law Letter. Topics included wrongful termination, unlimited vacation policies, overtime, meal and rest breaks, minimum wage, class certification, discrimination, harassment, respondeat superior, paid family leave, government benefits, independent contractor classification and arbitration agreements.

Honors and Awards

Jaime was awarded “Super Lawyer” distinction in 2020, 2021 and 2023.  She was named as a Northern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers every year between 2009 and 2018.  In December 2009, Jaime was named BASF’s Barrister of the Year.


Jaime is a member of the State Bar of California and has been admitted to practice in all the state and federal district courts for California, and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit.
